Google has rolled out a new app Google Duo to take on current megahit Pokemon Go. The app was released on August 15,2016 and is in second place in Google’s list of top-free Android app.
Google introduced the app in May at company’s announce I/O developer conference. Since there are several videos calling app available this app is different because you can see a live video feed of who’s calling you even before you pick up the call. Isn’t it a cool feature 😉
Within a week Google Duo has raised a significant amount of interest among Android users and giving tough competition other players like Facebook Messenger, Snapchat and Pokemon Go.
In order to see the current position of the app open up your Google Play Store on your Android device and go to ‘Top Free’ section, and you will be able to view Google Duo there in top 3 apps.
After the smashing hit in the U.S. Google Duo is now available Globally.
I would also like to point out that Google Duo has an average rating of 4.5, which is higher than the rating of most popular app such as Facebook Messenger (3.9), Facebook (4.0) and Snapchat(3.9)
Small Intro of Google Duo
According to the company this app can work on low strength networks and can adjust the quality of the video automatically in macular networks to avoid hiccups in the conversation.
This app has end-to-end encryption and a feature called knock knock which shows you a preview video of the caller, before picking up the call.
Google has also announced an instant messaging app Allo for Android and iOS. We are waiting for app release and will come up with complete details about the app.
